In the Gospel of Gospel of John (15:26–16:4a), Jesus prepares His disciples for the reality of mission. He promises them the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, who will testify to the truth about Him: “When the Advocate comes… He will testify to me. And you also testify.” The disciples are not left alone to carry the Gospel by their own strength. The Holy Spirit becomes their guide, courage, and wisdom.
