Gospel Reading  - John 14: 1-12

The readings from Acts 6:1–7; Psalm 33; 1 Peter 2:4–9; and John 14:1–12 reveal a powerful identity for every believer: we are chosen by God, built on Christ, and called to live with purpose and trust.

In the Gospel of Gospel of John (14:1–12), Jesus speaks words of deep reassurance:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.”

In moments of uncertainty, Jesus does not promise an easy path—but He offers Himself as the sure foundation. He declares:

“I am the way and the truth and the life.”

This means that our direction, our understanding, and our very existence find meaning in Him. We are not left to figure life out alone—Christ is our guide, our truth, and our source of life.

In Acts of the Apostles (6:1–7), we see how this foundation plays out in the life of the early Church. Faced with internal challenges, the apostles respond with wisdom and structure. They appoint seven men full of the Spirit and wisdom to serve the community, ensuring that no one is neglected.

This moment teaches us that the Church grows when every member embraces their role. Service is not secondary—it is essential. Because of this shared responsibility, “the word of God continued to spread.”

The message deepens in the letter of First Epistle of Peter (2:4–9), where we are described as “living stones” being built into a spiritual house. Christ is the cornerstone, and we are part of what God is building.

Peter goes even further to describe our identity:

  • A chosen race
  • A royal priesthood
  • A holy nation
  • God’s own people

This is not just poetry—it is purpose. We are chosen “to proclaim the mighty acts of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

Psalm 33 reminds us why we can trust in this calling:
“The Lord’s eyes are upon those who fear Him… to deliver them from death.”

God sees us, sustains us, and remains faithful to His promises.

Reflection for Your Life

  • Are you building your life on Christ, or on temporary things?
  • Do you recognize your role in God’s plan, or are you holding back?
  • Do you truly believe in your identity as one chosen and called by God?

Faith in Action

  • Trust Jesus in times of uncertainty—He is your way forward
  • Serve others with humility, knowing your contribution matters
  • Live out your identity boldly, reflecting God’s light in your daily life

You are not just part of the Church—you are part of what God is building.

Rooted in Christ, strengthened by His truth, and guided by His love, your life has meaning beyond what you can see.

So today, trust deeply, serve faithfully, and live boldly—
because you are chosen, built, and sent by God.
