Born in Spain in 1557, he became a priest and eventually travelled to Rome. There, he encountered many poor children who had little or no opportunity to receive an education. Their situation deeply touched his heart and changed the direction of his life. Joseph realized that education could transform the lives of children and give them hope for the future. He believed that every child, regardless of social or economic background, deserved the opportunity to learn. More importantly, he wanted education to form not only the mind but also the heart, helping young people grow in faith, virtue, and love of God. Saint Louis sought to govern his people according to Christian principles. He was deeply concerned about justice and worked to ensure that the poor and vulnerable were not forgotten. He encouraged fair judgment and tried to make his kingdom a place where people could live with dignity and security. His faith was not something he practiced only in private.   St. Bartholomew, Apostle: A Sincere Heart Called to Follow Christ Saint Bartholomew, one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, is a beautiful example of sincerity, openness to God's call, and courageous discipleship. He is traditionally identified with Nathanael, the disciple introduced to Jesus by Philip in the Gospel of John. When Philip told Nathanael that they had found the Messiah, Nathanael initially responded with skepticism: "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Yet he did not allow his doubts to close his heart. When he encountered Jesus, his heart was transformed, and he made a profound profession of faith: "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel." This encounter teaches us something important about faith. Having questions or doubts does not necessarily mean that our hearts are closed to God.
