Saint Augustine of Canterbury: A Missionary Who Brought Light to a Nation The life of Saint Augustine of Canterbury is a powerful story of obedience, courage, and l zeal. Saint Augustine was a monk living in Rome when Pope Gregory I chose him to lead a mission to England in the late 6th century.
