St. Sharbel Makhluf  Priest: A Life of Silence, Prayer, and Complete Trust in God


Saint Sharbel Makhluf is a remarkable example of a soul completely devoted to God. Born in Lebanon in 1828, he grew up in a humble Christian family where he learned to love prayer and trust in God's providence. From an early age, he desired to dedicate his life entirely to the Lord. He entered the Lebanese Maronite Order and later embraced the life of a hermit, seeking a deeper union with God through silence, prayer, and sacrifice.

Although Saint Sharbel lived far from the attention of the world, his hidden life became a powerful witness to the presence of God. He spent long hours in prayer, meditation on Sacred Scripture, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. His life reminds us that true greatness is not found in worldly recognition but in faithful obedience to God and a heart that seeks Him above all else.
