Led by the Spirit: From Seeking to Seeing
Led by the Spirit: From Seeking to Seeing
The readings from Acts 8:26–40; Psalm 66; and John 6:44–51 reveal a beautiful journey of faith: God seeks us, draws us, and nourishes us—so that we may truly know Him and live.
In the Gospel of Gospel of John (6:44–51), Jesus makes a profound statement:
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.”
This reminds us that our faith is not just our own effort—it begins with God. He is constantly reaching out, inviting, and drawing us closer to Himself. And when we respond, Jesus offers us something extraordinary:
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
Here, Christ reveals Himself as the source of eternal life, the nourishment our souls truly need. He is not just a teacher or a guide—He is the Bread that sustains us, strengthens us, and gives us life that never ends.
This divine invitation comes to life in Acts of the Apostles (8:26–40) through the encounter between Philip the Evangelist and the Ethiopian official.
The Spirit leads Philip to a desert road—an unlikely place for a meaningful encounter. Yet, it is there that he meets a man who is searching, reading Scripture but struggling to understand it.
Philip listens, explains the Word, and proclaims Jesus.
What follows is a moment of grace and transformation. The Ethiopian, moved by understanding and faith, asks to be baptized. Right there, on the roadside, he receives new life in Christ and continues his journey filled with joy.
This story teaches us that God meets us wherever we are—even in unexpected places—and uses others to guide us closer to Him. It also reminds us that when we are attentive to the Spirit, we become instruments of God’s work in the lives of others.
Psalm 66 beautifully reflects this personal experience of God’s goodness:
“Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what He has done for me.”
Faith is not meant to be hidden—it is meant to be shared. When we encounter God’s love, we naturally desire to speak about it and invite others into that same experience.
Reflection for Your Life
Are you open to God’s invitation, or are you resisting His call?
Do you take time to understand His Word, or do you struggle without seeking guidance?
Are you attentive to the ways God may be asking you to help others grow in faith?
Faith in Action
Spend time daily in Scripture, asking God to guide your understanding
Be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, even in unexpected moments
Share your faith with someone who may be searching
God is always drawing you closer.
And when you respond, He fills you with life that satisfies beyond anything the world can offer.
So today, listen to His call, receive His grace, and walk in joy—
because in Christ, you have found the Bread of Life.
