  The Mercy That Knows No Measure Readings  First Reading - Ezekiel 12:1-12,  Responsorial Psalm- Psalm 78:56-59,61-62,  Alleluia - Psalm 119:135,  Gospel Reading - Matthew 18:21-19:1 Today's readings call us to recognize God's warnings, remain faithful to Him, and—above all—embrace the boundless mercy that Jesus asks us to extend to others. In the first reading (Ezekiel 12:1–12), God tells Ezekiel to perform a symbolic action before the people. He packs his belongings and prepares to leave as though going into exile. This dramatic sign represents what will happen to Jerusalem because of the people's continued rebellion against God. The people have eyes but refuse to see and ears but refuse to hear. Their hearts have become resistant to God's warnings. Ezekiel's actions are therefore a final invitation to recognize the seriousness of their situation and turn back to the Lord.   Saints Pontian and Hippolytus: Reconciliation and Faithfulness in Suffering Saints Pontian and Hippolytus give us a beautiful testimony of faith, humility, reconciliation, and courage in the face of persecution. They lived during the third century, at a time when the Church faced serious internal divisions as well as persecution from the Roman authorities. Saint Pontian became Pope in 230. During his pontificate, he faced opposition from Hippolytus, a learned priest who had separated himself from the Church and had even been elected by his supporters as an opposing bishop of Rome. Their disagreement was painful, but God's grace eventually brought them together. When Emperor Maximinus ordered the persecution of Christians, both Pontian and Hippolytus were arrested and sent into exile in the mines of Sardinia. Born in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo around 1887, Isidore embraced the Catholic faith as a young man. He became a devoted Christian and a member of the Carmelite confraternity, carrying the Brown Scapular as a visible sign of his love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. Isidore worked as a laborer and remained committed to his faith despite the difficult conditions under which he lived and worked. He openly shared the Christian faith with others and encouraged those around him to know and love Christ.  Receive God's Word and Become Like Little Children Today's readings call us to receive God's Word with humility, treasure it above worldly riches, and care deeply for the vulnerable. They remind us that true greatness in God's Kingdom is found not in status or power but in humility, trust, and loving service. In the first reading (Ezekiel 2:8–3:4), God commands the prophet Ezekiel to eat the scroll containing His Word and then go and speak to the people. The scroll contains words of lamentation, mourning, and woe, yet Ezekiel is instructed to receive it completely.
