Walking in Goodness.

Devotional:
Walking in Goodness.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

God’s goodness is not just something He gives—it's who He is. When we walk in goodness, we’re not striving to impress God, but rather allowing His nature to flow through us. Goodness, as a fruit of the Spirit, is cultivated in us when we stay connected to Him through His Word, prayer, and obedience. The challenge is that we live in a world that often rewards compromise and calls sin acceptable. But God calls us to a higher standard—not out of control, but out of love. He wants us to experience the joy, peace, and fulfillment that comes from walking in alignment with His truth.

Today, take a moment to ask: Are my choices reflecting God’s heart? Am I walking in the kind of goodness that points others to Him? Even when it’s hard or unpopular, choose the way that honors God. Every small act of obedience matters.gentleness and self-control.”

Goodness is not just about doing good deeds; it’s about living in a way that pleases the Lord. That requires intentionality, surrender, and a willingness to be led by the Holy Spirit rather than our own desires. As we seek to align our choices with God’s standards, we begin to reflect His light more clearly in a world that desperately needs it.

Take time today to quiet your heart and reflect on how you are walking. Are your daily decisions marked by goodness? Are you seeking what pleases God or what pleases others?

Ask Yourself Today:

  1. Am I actively seeking to align my daily decisions with God's Word, or am I settling for what feels right in the moment?

  2. In what areas of my life have I compromised God’s standards for comfort, approval, or convenience?

  3. Do my thoughts, words, and actions reflect the goodness of Christ to those around me?

  4. When I face choices—big or small—do I pause to ask, “What would honor God?”

  5. Is my life bearing the fruit of the Spirit, especially goodness, or am I relying on my own definition of right and wrong?

  6. Who or what influences my moral compass the most—God’s truth or the culture around me?

  7. Am I open to correction from the Holy Spirit when I step out of alignment with God’s standards?

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being perfectly good and for showing me what goodness truly looks like. I confess that at times I’ve followed my own way instead of Yours. Help me to walk in alignment with Your standards, not the shifting values of the world. Fill me with Your Spirit so that goodness overflows from my life—not just in actions, but in my thoughts, words, and intentions. Teach me to love what You love and reject what You reject. Give me the courage to choose righteousness even when it’s difficult, and let my life be a light that reflects Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Affirmation

Today, I choose to walk in God’s goodness. My thoughts, actions, and decisions are aligned with His Word. I am led by the Spirit, strengthened by His grace, and empowered to live a life that honors Him. I reflect the character of Christ in all that I do.

Altar Call:
A Call to Experience God’s Love Personally.

Friend, as you’ve always heard about love in action — the kind of love that gives, serves, and forgives — maybe something stirred in your heart. Maybe you’ve longed for that kind of love in your life: a love that doesn’t fail, doesn’t abandon, and doesn’t ask you to earn it. I want you to know today — that love is real, and it’s found in Jesus Christ.

In a world that often feels cold, selfish, and empty, God offers you something different — Himself. He sent His Son, Jesus, not to judge you, but to rescue you. Not because you’re perfect, but because you’re loved. And He proved it by dying for your sins and rising again, so you could have new life, peace, and eternal hope.

You don’t need to fix yourself first. You don’t need to earn His love. You just need to say yes.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

Today, Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart. He’s offering you more than religion — He’s offering a relationship. A new beginning. A clean slate. A chance to not only receive His love, but to become someone who lives it and reflects it in this world.

If you're ready to make that decision — to invite Jesus into your life — pray this simple prayer with sincerity:

Salvation Prayer

“Lord Jesus,

I acknowledge that I need You.

I have sinned, and I can’t save myself.

But I believe You died for me and rose again.

Today, I open my heart and ask You to come in.

Forgive me, change me, and make me new.

From this day forward, I choose to follow You.

Thank You for loving me first.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of God! Heaven rejoices over your decision, and so do we. Look for a Believing Church around you to join. Thank you
